Historical Mini Furniture

Our last look at historical mini furniture is for Addy and Samantha. I simply adore this rope bed!

The bed is very well crafted with thick, nicely turned spindle posts, a spindle footboard and a handsome curved headrest. The rope supports are fasten with tiny nails. We have made a new mattress of blue and ecru cotton ticking, a primitive sheet and pillow cases from a vintage hankie and topped it with a piece of a vintage, hand stitched quilt in greens and browns on an off-white background.
This adorable little vintage miniature bed is handmade with hand turned bed posts and decorative head and footboards. It is rather primitive with glued joints and stained in a rich mahogany with matte finish. Sits steady with no wobble.

This rare and very hard to find brass bed was made by the Watko Mfg. Co. for the Alexander Doll Company in 1957. It was made for their 10" Cissette doll but will also fit Ginny, Jill, Muffie, Betsy McCall and other small dolls up to 10" tall.
Made of heavy bent wire and brass plated, it measures 7 1/2" tall to tip of headboard, 3" to mattress, 10" long and 6 1/2" wide.
