HTM - Mini Hats

This is SO SUPER SIMPLE!!!

 Supplies:
  • Foam sheets in various colors (thick kind)
  • Bottle caps to match foam sheets (water, soda)
  • Hot glue
  • Tiny embellishments (cording, ribbon, flowers, beads)
  • Scissors
  • 6 oz tomato paste can

Set the tomato paste can on sheet of foam and trace. Cut inside the trace line so there is no ink on the foam sheet. Next trace the bottle cap in the center of the circle then cut inside the trace line. Finally hot glue the bottle cap over the opening.

Embellish the edge of the brim with beads, yarn or ribbon. Add tiny flowers or beads to the top of the hat for decoration. The possibilities are endless.

For another look:

Hot glue twine on the inside of the bottle cap and tie under your doll's chin - this makes a perfect old fashion pillbox hat.

HTM - Wide Brim Hat for Mini Dolls

Here's a quick, SIMPLE way to make A LOT of hats for any mini doll.
Supplies:
  • Felt or felt board (various colors)
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue
  • Can of food (veg or fruit)
  • Bottle cap (water or soda)
  • Thin tip marker
  • Small silk flowers, 1/4"- 1/8" wide ribbon, other tiny embellishments

Trace the food can with your thin tip marker onto a light colored piece of felt. Cut out the circle on the inside of the trace line. You don't want ink on your hat.

For darker colored felt, use one of your cut circles as a template.

Trace a bottle cap with the thin tip marker.

Cut on the inside of the trace line, use the inner circle as a template for darker color felt. Pop it over your doll's head and voila!

Embellish your hat brim with ribbons, bows, small flowers - make sure it is light weight so it won't weigh it down.
