How to Make Mini Isabelle's Studio

I LOVE this piece!

I also LOVE the vintage Suzy Goose Wardrobes. There are very difficult to find, but when you do - they are never under $45 so budget for one.

Vintage Susy Goose Wardrobe (plastic) circa 1962.  Some came with an accessory shelf and accessory bar on one inside door and a shoe rack under the mirror sheeting on the other. A shelf with hanger bar was inside and three drawers were on the right bottom of the wardrobe.

The wardrobe measures approximately 13" h x 7" w x 4" deep.  Each door has the Susy Goose logo and "Jonesville, Michigan, Toys that mold character, made in USA and Barbie" embossed on it.

Wallpaper can be added to the inside back. If yours is missing the mirror, new mirror sheeting can be adding with mirrored scrapbook paper. Look for Susy Goose pink hangers too!

*Saige's Leaving for New Mexico*

Saige finished packing for her weekend trip to New Mexico.
"Now you're sure you packed everything?" Nicki asked.
"Yes."
"Aren't you excited?" Nicki asked again.
"Yes!" Saige smiled.
"I'll miss you while you're gone." Nicki said hugging Saige.
"I know, but it's only for two days." Answered Saige.
"Have fun! And text me when you get there!!" Nicki called out, waving good-bye.
"I will! Bye!" Saige said as she was leaving.
"(sigh) I guess I'll watch the Great Gatsby again." Nicki said to herself.

My Big FAT Project - Doll Room Part 2

My doll room is serving more than one purpose! If you've been following on my other blog Living A Doll's Life then you have seen how the room is taking shape for my full size dolls. I have given the room fresh paint, removed nails, free floating shelves and touched up the white trim.

I have had to designate a wall to Snickerdoodle Street, Liberty Towne, USA.

Under the doll houses are plastic storage drawers. They house craft supplies, mini clothes, Barbie clothes, and doll props. (Small bathroom to the left)

In the corner (across) next to the closet, is where the main house sits. This comprises all of the space for minis. I also have mobile pieces such as the Barn and the Gazebo. Now you have the back story, behind the scenes look!

Directions:
  1. Cover your treat box in the fabric of choice.
  2. (Headboard) Using contact paper or felt/fabric, cover a piece of cardboard (same width as bed x as tall as you like).
  3. Hot glue the headboard onto the bed.
  4. Using left over fabric swatches, make bedding and stuff pillows with cotton balls.

Girls and dolls seem to go hand in hand, but different types of dolls play different rolls, take on various meanings and fit different needs for your young one.
When shopping for the little girl in your life, it's helpful to know what doll theme she’ll truly enjoy now and for years to come.

Here are several categories of popular doll themes sure to light up the life of your precious little one:

Historic Dolls

Specifically for your girl, Historical dolls capture an unforgettable period of history, in the form of a doll. These dolls can be known for many different roles in their life. Some are famous doctors, writers, actors or even spies!
They will have authentic outfits that capture the clothing and accessories often worn in that time period. These dolls are usually collectible, and sometimes they even come with a back-story that your daughter can act out.

Fashion Dolls

They come with an extensive wardrobe selection are trendy and fashionable.  Doll sizes and doll body types can vary, it all depends on your liking.
Younger girls may benefit from fun fashion dolls like the Madame Alexander 18 Inch Fashion Play Dolls. These dolls give girls a chance to explore their inner fashionista and explore their creativity and imagination.

Puppets and Muppets

Puppets are a unique category of dolls. Puppets allow your child to interact and play in a very different way as they learn to breath life, creativity and personality into it, becoming the doll with every gesture, expression and mannerism.
What popular puppets do we know better than the Muppets? We've loved them for so long, they aren't just puppets anymore. Now they are close friends you can bring home with Madame Alexander's brand new Muppets puppets. They are just as realistic as the iconic puppets themselves.
With a puppet, any child, boy or girl can experiment with their own ventriloquism make them take on a life of their own.

Character Dolls

Character dolls create a doll out of a favorite character from a movie, television show or book. Disney dolls are a common type of character doll. Princess dolls capture the beauty and exquisite designs of every little girl's favorite princess.
Yet princesses are just one type of character doll. Older girls and even adults will appreciate the detail in the Gone With the Wind or Wizard of Oz collection. Character dolls can also come from children's literature. Fans of Pinkalicious, Fancy Nancy, and Angelina Ballerina can find beautiful dolls that allow them to bring their favorite books to life.

Collectible Dolls

All dolls can be collectible, but specific dolls made for a collection tend to be designed for display, not play. They may have fragile materials and exquisite costumes. These dolls are ideal for older girls and adults
Do you enjoy collecting dolls or would like to start a collection? Here are two great resources just for you:

Baby Dolls

Baby dolls may be one of the first dolls a child has. These dolls are realistic, life-like babies that little mommies can take care of. From changing diapers to feeding bottles and even tiny baby spoons, these dolls give young girls a chance to explore the role of being mommy, so they can get excellent practice for later in life.
Baby dolls also help children develop in many ways as they play, change outfits, feed and nurture their doll.

*Welcome New Resident!!*

Now that the townhouse is complete and everyone is settled, Emily has finally moved to Snickerdoodle Street.

She will live in the blue house with Molly.

All of the news is making Kit's head spin!

Liberty Towne Tatler
by Kit Kittredge
Things have gotten busy here on Snickerdoodle Street, AGAIN. The neighborhood is growing and more dolls have  moved in. Loud doesn't begin to explain the happenings around here. Recently a new Townhouse was constructed mid town. It will be the new location for two small businesses opened to the public effective immediately. One is a much needed health clinic - Snickerdoodle Clinic and Urgent Care, with Nurse Katherine seeing patients. Also next door is the Anna Hart Dance Studio, home to twirling ballerinas in training.
Lastly, two of our residents have left Liberty Towne and gone back to their home town New Orleans. We will miss Marie Grace and Cecile. Best of luck to both of you.
