*REVIEW* 1964 Suzy Goose Barbie Wardrobe

Wardrobe opens up to reveal a mirror, shoe rack, removable top shelf, lattice shelf, slide out drawers in three different sizes with handles, and backed with a original wallpaper lining. Wardrobe is (C) Mattel Inc. 1964.

I need hangers so Midge can hang her incredible vintage wardrobe inside.

*REVIEW* Doll Scale Comparison - Appliances

Bubble cut Barbie next to the yellow fridge. Note* She is taller than the fridge! I don't understand why doll refrigerators are shorter than the dolls.

Kelly looks really small next to this fridge.

Julie looks like a small child next to the fridge.

14" Tristan looks perfect to scale next to the Fisher Price refrigerator.

Look at Tristan in Grace's bakery, she is standing in front of the pastry cart.

*REVIEW* Dream Townhouse Canopy Bed

I found this Barbie bed for $2.00 !!!

It's entirely plastic including the bedding.

I made the pillows. You can see embossed details on the foot board.

Scroll work on the head baord.

Midge and Stacie are discussing decorating plans for Midge's new room!
...to be continued.

Minor Changes - Barbie's House

My Barbie house needs more attention, unfortunately I haven't had the time to devote to this project. I have been making the most out of small moments here and there to add a feature or two. I am actively searching for furniture and plants on my shopping trips to antique stores and  scour ebay.

The bookcase house isn't that deep - 12" to be exact - and that means large furniture pieces are not an option. I found a backdrop of a fireplace and printed it out. It's too short to extend the height of the wall, I will need to print another copy and use a solid piece of the brick to fill in the lower portion.

Temporarily the dolls are using a crate for a coffee table. It is difficult to find vintage furniture and it takes more time than I currently have available to begin making furniture for this living room/kitchen.

Ken has no dresser or nightstand, space is limited in his bedroom too. I made a SIMPLE wall unit using large craft sticks. I have yet to paint and accessorize it. I think it's a good alternative to large bulky furniture piece.

Ah the kitchen! I have no space whatsoever for bulky boxy appliances. I colored then printed out an old appliance ad. The refrigerator is 11" and doesn't hit to the floor. Once I have a table in place, I'm hoping the lower areas will be covered. It is the height of the appliances I am most concerned with. When the dolls stand near them, the scale needs to be right.

More updates as time allows.

Doll Size Props - Resource

https://www.etsy.com/shop/BlinkydollsBoutique

I love the details in this etsy shop. You will be sure to find something unique for your dollhouse and dioramas.

About this shop:
As an adult fashion doll collector, I would like to imagine that if fashion dolls were living in today's world they would be urban recyclers, using natural fibers and reclaimed timbers in their environment. They would be adventurous and eclectic in designing living environments, settings would be harmonious, with natural light and subtle textures, similar to what we use in our own homes.

I believe today's fashion dolls would shop wisely at small business owner boutiques and thrift stores. Tiny boutiques owned by friendly people, are where you find the best prices, especially for fashion doll necessities.

HTM - Fashion Doll Chairs

This will work for 11" fashion dolls.

Sketch the shape onto a paper towel tube, then cut it out. The chairs are about 4 inches tall, but you should size them according to your doll. Trace around the chair shape to make a template for all the other chairs.

Create disks out of cardboard for seats and hot glue them into the top opening. Cover extra cut  disks of board in fabric.

You may decide to paint the chairs or cover them in scrapbook or contact paper.

*Opening* Ever After High

I was excited to begin collecting this line of dolls because as with Monster High these are creative and very detailed. Only in a "pretty Princess" kind of way without playing the same looks over and over (like with Disney Princess dolls).

I was drawn to Apple White first then Briar Beauty.

 Then Madeline Hatter

I love Cupid and Ashlynn too!

I bought Apple White and her fainting couch!

And Briar Beauty!
(Mattel is getting A LOT of my money!)

And I took the online quiz LOL and found out if I was a ROYAL or REBEL!!!

You can take the quiz HERE
