Let me take you back in time a bit...to 1957
Meet beautiful Betsy McCall.

Made of hard plastic Betsy had a wig with cloth or vinyl skullcap (cloth only year 1), two small silver metal barrettes. The basic doll came with chemise and shoes and socks. Usually sold in a box, some sets contained a dressed doll and other outfits.

The 8" Betsy McCall was made starting from 1957 ending in 1963 and was manufactured by American Character Doll Co., which is no longer in business.

Betsy originated as a paper doll published in McCall's Magazine.

I would love to own a tiny 8" Betsy McCall, in fact I am on the hunt for one. I think she is a beautiful vintage doll that exhibits the details of her time perfectly.
